Chennai-based builders Southern Investments has announced plans to enter major cities in Kerala with modern residential complexes.
The company has already begun construction on two projects in Kochi and the next project will be launched in Kozhikode shortly.
SI began its operations in 1968 in Chennai and has completed more than 150 projects. There are about 33 ongoing projects spread across various cities in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, which will be completed in three years.
Referring to Kerala market, Jacob Chandy, Director (Operations), said that there was no speculative buying of late and there has been genuine demand for residential apartments especially from NRIs.
Almost 45 per cent of the enquiries now are from NRIs, he added.
