The National Real Estate Developers Council has called for a revamp of the policies governing real estate while welcoming the Real Estate Regulation and Development Bill 2013. In a press release, quoting its President, Navin Raheja, the Council said rules and regulations governing the real estate sector have to be rationalised. There are inconsistencies due to archaic laws and guidelines that conflict with the development agenda, disparities in incentives for larger projects against those given to smaller projects and FDI norms which make it difficult for smaller developers to access capital easily.
