The Indian Green Building Council along with Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) will conduct Kochi Metro Greenathon, a green building programme in association with various organisations in and around Kochi.
The programme will be held on Sunday (October 6) in Ernakulam along the metro route.
World Green Building Council has been celebrating World Green Building Week in 95 countries all around the world. The Indian Green Building Council, Kochi, has also been celebrating it for the last three years.
The Greenathon will have two parts – cycle rally and walkathon. There will be two streams of cycle rallies, one commencing from the first metro station at Aluva and the second stream commencing from Petta.
Various organisations including Indian Navy, Cochin Bikers Club etc will be participating in the cycle rally. The walkers will start from Durbar Hall Ground from one end and the other from Edappally junction.
There will be prizes for best-dressed team (costume competition) and the largest team participating in the Greenathon.
Organisations such as Rotary International, Lions Club International, CII, Young India, Indian Institute of Architects, Indian Institute of Interior Designers, Kerala Management Association, CBSE School Association, Builders Association, Kerala Chamber of Commerce etc are also associated with the Greenathon.
