Registrations Department’s income in 2012-13 has gone up by Rs 537.60 crore to Rs 5,282 crore as of December 2012, according to an official press release.
The Commercial Taxes Minister B.V. Ramanaa announced the growth in registration revenue at a review meeting on Tuesday following the revised revenue target of Rs 8,546 crore set for the Department.
The State Government is considering a law relating to Stamp Duty. It has also earmarked Rs 117 crore for a dedicated and secure software and online facility for the public.
Security measures have been stepped up in the offices of Sub Registrars to prevent irregularities in land deals. Digitisation of data is also being expedited.
