Bengaluru-based property developer Brigade Group has signed an MoU with Technopark for developing its World Trade Centre (WTC) at Technocity in Thiruvananthapuram.

Technocity is a 300-acre IT campus where companies such as Nissan and TCS have already taken land. WTC Thiruvananthapuram is being set up on a 13-acre site at Technocity.

The iconic building is proposed to be part of a larger mixed-use development, with allied facilities including hotel, serviced apartments, hostels for working professionals, and retail and entertainment facilities.

The total development will be 2.5 million sq ft. The project will generate employment for 15,000 people.

Speaking on the occasion, MR Jaishankar, CMD, Brigade Enterprises, said, “WTC Thiruvananthapuram is poised to change the socio-economic scenario of the city. It promises to change the way office spaces are viewed, by providing an international environment to global and Indian IT/ITeS companies, giving their businesses a real boost.”

Brigade Group holds WTC licences for all the major cities in South India — Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad.
