Realty major Marathon Group has ventured into education. The company has introduced the Big Picture Learning concepts to India with the launch of its first educational institute Next School in India.
Big Picture Learning is supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The US-based entity is a non-profit organisation with over 150 schools in 10 countries.
The Pre-K-12 school, which will open in July 2017, will start with Pre-K-7 in first year. It plans to offer the IB Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, Diploma Programme and Career Programme (CP) curriculum. The school has the capacity to accommodate 700 students.
“After six years of research and development and searching the Netherlands, Thailand, Australia, the UK and the US, I have found the best educational experience, what I consider the future of education; Big Picture Learning,” said founder, Parmeet Shah, of Marathon Group.
