Profine India Window Technology Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Germany-based uPVC (un-plasticized poly vinyl chloride) window and door profiles maker Profine GmbH is looking to capitalise on the government’s housing sector push.
The company is increasing its production capacity at its Savli facility near Vadodara from the current 6,000 tonnes of uPVC profiles to 15,000 tonnes a year by 2022.
Company’s director and CEO Farid Khan said, “We have invested ₹95-100 crore since we commissioned the facility with five extrusion lines and one foiling line in 2013. The new facility holds the capacity of installing upto 15 lines that can produce 15,000 tonnes of uPVC profiles a year. Looking at the market potential in India, we expect to achieve ₹350-crore turnover in the next 5-7 years.”
According to Khan, the company may require additional ₹90-100 crore worth of investments over the next 5-7 years.
Market estimates put the total door and window sector at around ₹8,000 crore, out of which uPVC has about 8 per cent share or roughly around ₹700 crore.
Khan stated that the market may grow to about ₹15,000 crore supported by the government initiatives such as housing for all and affordable housing.
