We were early believers in the market: Donald Trump Jr

With a promise of an ultra-luxury housing experience, Trump Towers are now available to those planning a house in Gurugram. The 47-storey tower in Delhi-NCR was launched on January 10 in collaboration with M3M and Tribeca Developers. Claiming this to be the largest Trump project in India, Donald Trump Junior, who is on a visit to India said, “It’s great to be back here. We were early believers in the market before it was trending to be here as high-end or luxury. It’s great to see the hard work finally showing results”.

On being asked what the brand name Trump would bring to the table, as they are not developed, owned or sold by the Trump organisation, Trump Jr. said, “We bring our marketing, construction expertise. You cannot build the same product in New York and in India.” He added, “We are pretty good at what we do, but we know that we could not do everything in our market so what we do is partner with the best, bring our information, our knowledge and work with them on the ground and that’s the model that we are following here.

The base price of a flat stands at ₹7.5 crore. Some of the services which falt owners would be able to enjoy include 24/7 doorman and lifestyle concierge, dry cleaning, housekeeping and laundry services, valet service, on-call chef, catering services and resident fitness trainers.

For Trump, in terms of number of the projects outside North America, India is one of their largest markets. The organisation also plans to enter into commercial projects this year in India. The association with brand Trump has also helped firms M3M and Tribeca in selling the project at a time when Indian real estate is going through a challenging phase.

“We are getting 30-40 per cent premium immediately with the association of brand Trump. For example, if we are selling a project worth ₹100, then with Trump coming on the table, the same property is being sold at ₹130-140,” said Pankaj Bansal, Director, M3M India.

On maintaining luxury that has been provided to owners even after years, Trump Jr. said, “There is a licence agreement which allows us to ensure that there are funds allocated to the maintain the building, manage it in a certain way. If that does not happen, we can pull our licence. If you look at Trump Towers, which was built in the early 80s, it still looks the same way”.

The next city where they plan to enter after Gurugram, Trump Jr. said, “It’s a huge market and as more of that potential gets unleashed, I think there is much more opportunity.
