State Bank of India on Saturday gave away Maruti Suzuki EECOs for orphaned and under-privileged children in Delhi as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The vehicles will benefit around 100 under-privileged sheltered by Sant Hardyal Education & Orphans Welfare Scoiety, Gautampuri, New Delhi, an SBI release said on Saturday.
Apart from this, for 25 deprived children from the North-East, SBI will donate computers, inverters, book-shelves, dormitory almirahs, and exhaust fans to Arya Gurukul Tihar Gram, an NGO, the release added.
SBI said it generally allocates around one per cent of annual profit towards CSR initiatives. The bank’s profits for 2011-12 stood at Rs 11,707 crore.
