A. Sampath, Member of Parliament, inaugurated a sit-in by employees of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) in front of the zonal office of the bank here on Wednesday.
The SBT Staff Union said it wanted to press the management to act on its charter of demands, said P. Jayakumar, secretary of the union.
These included recruitment of last-grade, part-time and clerical staff apart from revising employee welfare schemes.
Those who addressed the gathering included Ganapathi Krishnan, Gregory Paul, Sreelatha, A. Jayakumar, P.V. Jose, K. Balachandran and M. Suresh.
