Defiance Technologies, a Hinduja group company, has forayed into space-related projects for global customers with two projects in concept stage.
The Chennai-based company recently roped in Gajbir Singh, who was formerly with Indian Space Research Organisation to spearhead the aerospace vertical which is going to be a major focus area , according to V. Sumantran, Chairman, Defiance.
The company has been in aerospace projects and the new business is an extension, he said.
As part of a global consortium, Defiance is doing entire satellite payload integration to the launch vehicle. “This is just the start of a long journey in the space industry,” said Sumantran, who holds a doctorate degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management of Technology.
