Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) Director S Chandrasekhar and his colleague G Narahari Sastry have been selected for the J C Bose National Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology.
They have been selected for the fellowship for their contribution to scientific research and “desire to pursue research in India”.
S Chandrasekhar worked in organic chemistry. He has 260 publications and two patents to his credit with over 4,000 citations.
G Narahari Sastry worked in the area of computer-aided drug design and advanced material design. The award comes with a research grant of Rs 10 lakh per year, in addition to a monthly special fellowship, for a period of five years initially.
