Smriti Irani, Union Human Resource Development Minister, is likely to visit Kolkata on July 4 to attend the annual convocation of the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University.
According to State BJP President, Rahul Sinha, Irani will visit Belur Math.
A meeting between Irani and her counterpart in the State, Partha Chatterjee, is also being planned, he added.
Apart from the scheduled meetings, the Union Minister might also meet those aggrieved by the PTTI (primary teachers training institutes) problem and SSC pass-outs who are yet to find employment.
“We would also like to point out to her the problems faced in the State following the cancellation of online admission procedures by the Government,” Sinha told presspersons.
