Germany winning the 2014 Football World Cup emerged as the most tweeted moment on Twitter during the live telecast of games. Germany’s win in the final match with Argentina generated 618,725 TPM (tweets per minute).
Till now, the highest TPM in the World Cup event was recorded in the semi-final match between Germany and Brazil. In that match Germany’s fifth goal against Brazil at the 29th minute by Sami Khedira, assisted by Mesut Ozil, recorded 580,166 TPMs.

When Marlo Gotze of Germany scored a goal against Argentina in the final, the event recorded 556,499 TPM.
Another peak TPM was recorded when Lionel Messi of Argentina received the Golden Ball and declared the Best Player of the tournament, and Manuel Neuer of Germany received the Golden Glove and received the Best Goal Keeper of the tournament. This event generated 395,773 TPM.
Overall, 32.1 million tweets were sent during the live match between Germany and Argentina. With around 35.6 million tweets, the semi-final clash between Germany and Brazil remains on the top in terms of tweets generated during the live telecast of the match.
