Kings XI Punjab has announced its partnership with image recognition and augmented reality platform, Blippar. It said that the collaboration for IPL Season 8 will provide fans an opportunity to book tickets and buy merchandise online via their smart phones.
In a statement, Fraser Castellino, COO, Kings XI Punjab said, “At Kings XI Punjab, we are constantly looking for more opportunities to engage with our fans. This year, we have partnered with Blippar to provide an interesting and unique interface. With this unprecedented and innovative offering, we hope to enhance the experience of our fans and change the way they connect with us.”
Arnav Ghosh, Regional Director, Blippar India, said, “Through our world class technology, we are looking to enable a very compelling and innovative content led engagement for KXIP fans.”
