The third edition of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Corporate Cricket Championship aims to connect with 7.5 Lakh employees in Bengaluru. The cricket championship is being played between November 14 and 29.

“Recognised as the most prominent annual inter-corporate cricket tournament in the country, the RCB Corporate Cricket Championship will see 16 corporate teams from Bangalore participating in the Championship in 2015,” said Russell Adams, Vice-President, Commercial, Operations & Cricket Academy Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Objective “The aim of the tournament is to inculcate the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle in the growing corporate population present in Bengaluru,” he added.

The teams include last year’s champions, Amazon along with Accenture and HP who have also been firm competitors in the previous RCB Corporate Championship, amongst others.

With all laws of cricket being applied and KSCA Umpires on field, the championship will be played in a league-cum-knockout format comprises four groups of four teams each; with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the semi-finals and finals that will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

‘T-6’ format The third edition of the cricket championship will see the introduction of the ‘T-6’ format in addition to the ‘T-20’ format.

According to Adams, “The T-6 format, being another innovation from brand RCB, increases the drama and intrigue of the championship, while also testing a corporate’s ability to perform under pressure.”

With two formats, for the first time this year, corporate teams are presented two distinct occasions to experience playing at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and on immaculate turf wickets at KSCA’s Alur grounds – an extremely unique opportunity for the amateur cricket enthusiast, while also competing for exciting prizes such as audience to a training session with the RCB squad and tickets to watch their home team live at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
