The price of cooking gas has been lowered by ₹120.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder from January 1 due to a fall in the price of LPG in the international market and the strengthening of the US dollar-rupee exchange rate.

An IndianOil statement said consumers of domestic LPG will now make an upfront cash payment of ₹689 a cylinder, against the earlier of ₹809.50, in Delhi. The price of the subsidised cylinder will now come down by ₹5.91 a cylinder (from ₹500.90 in December 2018 to ₹494.99 in January 2019).

In line with the fall in international prices, the price of petrol was cut by 20 paisa to ₹68.84 a litre and diesel by 23 paisa to ₹62.86 a litre in the national capital.
