Senior journalist A Surya Prakash has been appointed as the Chairman of the Prasar Bharati board for three years. His appointment has come on the recommendation of the three-member committee headed by the Vice-President of India, Chairman of Press Council of India and Secretary, Information and Broadcasting, according to a statement by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. Prior to this, Prakash has held key positions in several print and electronic media organisations. He is currently Consulting Editor of the Pioneer and a Fellow at a New-Delhi-based think-tank, Vivekananda International Foundation.
