Tata Consultancy Services Gen Y 2013-14 survey findings show that teenagers in mini-metros lead metros in adopting digital lifestyle.

The survey, undertaken during the nationwide TCS IT Wiz programme held between July and December 2013 across 14 Indian cities, has revealed that tomorrow's professionals would be socially active, be highly adaptable to new technologies and extremely aware of the world around them.

According to TCS sources, primary data for the survey was collected from the participants at each of the locations.

Commenting on TCS Gen Y survey findings, company Executive Vice-President and Global Head, HR Ajoy Mukherjee, said that urban teenagers are driving the change with the adoption of new social platforms quickly and in multiple ways.

The highlights further revealed that 9 out of 10 urban teenagers had phones and tablets, as popular as mobile phones both in metros and mini-metros.

Cyber cafes incidentally, ceased to exist in metros.

Social trends indicate that Facebook is the most preferred social networking playground, Google+ emerging popular, while Orkut has become history.

Twitter is being considered by these teenagers as complex and therefore not popular.
