Dr A. Sakthivel, President, Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA), who is also Chairman of the India Knit Fair Association (IKFA), Tirupur, said TEA and IKFA have donated Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to support victims of the “extensive devastation” in the hill state of Uttarakhand. Dr Sakthivel said the cheques were handed over to the Union Minister of Textiles Kavuru Sambasiva Rao today morning during a discussion meeting with garment associations held at SITRA, Coimbatore.
