A scuffle broke out between the police and TMC workers this afternoon when the latter tried to break into the house of Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Babul Supriyo.
According to eye witnesses, agitating TMC workers tried to break the barricades and enter the apartment complex where Supriyo resides. The Minister, however, is in Delhi and his parents are residing at Kolkata.
The agitation in front of Supriyo's residence is a part of the State-wide agitation and sit-in programme that the Trinamool Congress has taken up to protest the arrest of its MPs in the recent Rose Valley chit fund scam.
Trinamool Congress workers have been on the rampage since yesterday evening post the arrest of party MP Sudip Bandopadhyay for his alleged complicity in the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
