Tamil Nadu continued to witness a spike in Coronavirus cases with 1,162 more affected, including 50 from other states. Chennai alone saw 964 cases.
The total number of cases in the State touched 23,495, with 15,770 of them in Chennai.
With 413 positive patients discharged, the total number of persons recovered was 13,170. This leaves the number of active cases at 10,138.
On Monday, eleven Covid-19 patients died to taking the tally to 184.
With 11,377 blood samples tested today, the total samples tested is 5.03 lakhs.
Chengalpattu reported 48 new cases, followed by Tiruvallur with 33, Salem and Tiruvannamalai 10 each and a few other districts, including Kancheepuram and Villupuram, reporting cases in single digits, says government data.
