In a single highest day spike, Tamil Nadu today reported 1,515 new Coronavirus cases to take the total to 31,677.
In Chennai alone, 1,155 persons were infected today. The total cases in the city stood at 22,149.
On Sunday, 604 persons were discharged after treatment to take the total number of persons recovered from the virus to 16,999. This leaves the active cases in the State at 14,396.
Today, 18 Covid-19 patients died to take the total death toll to 269.
A total of 16,275 samples were tested today, says a Health ministry bulletin.
