The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is set to go for the second round of dollar-rupee swap auction on April 23. This is to inject another $5 billion (about Rs 34,500 crore) into the banking system. The US Dollar amount mobilized through this auction would reflect in RBI’s foreign exchange reserves for the tenor of the swap while also reflecting in RBI’s forward liabilities. The first such auction was done on March 26, 2019.

The third phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2019 to take place on Tuesday, where 115 constituencies across 14 states and Union Territories are set to go on polls. Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Kerala, Daman and Diu will vote in a single phase. Whereas Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Karnataka, Odisha, UP, and Maharashtra will witness voting for some seats.

The Supreme Court on April 23, is set to hear the final arguments on an appeal filed by Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi against the Delhi High Court order allowing re-assessment of their Income Tax for 2011-12 in connection with the National Herald case. A bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud and Hemant Gupta had listed the matter for its final disposal.

The board of Jet Airways is scheduled to meet on April 23 to discuss the way forward for the airline. Jet Airways’ gross loan and unpaid interest towards it domestic and international lender may amount to ₹11,261 crore, documents reviewed by BusinessLine suggest. The grounded airline had borrowed from public sector banks including State Bank of India (SBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) along with private banks such as YES Bank and IDBI Bank.

Goa is set to hold bypoll for three state assembly seats alongside poll for two Lok Sabha seats on April 23. The three assembly seats are Shiroda, Mapusa and Mandrem. There are 18 candidates for the three assembly seats. The by-elections in Shiroda and Mandrem were necessitated after their sitting Congress MLAs resigned and joined the ruling BJP. The Mapusa seat fell vacant following the death of its sitting MLA.
