The Karnataka Congress will announce its first list of candidates on March 22 (Friday). Party sources said that the Chief Election Committee (CEC), headed by Congress President Rahul Gandhi will finalise the names. Karnataka will go to the polls in April 18 and April 23.

Prohibitory orders for Holi issued by the Mumbai police will be abided by till March 22 (Friday). The orders forbade people from throwing colour-filled balloons at a passersby and indulging in obscenity as well as public nuisance. Holi will be celebrated till March 22. The order stated that such acts could create communal tension and breach of public peace.

Shatrughan Sinha will announce his decision about the party he would like to contest for in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 22. There have been reports that Sinha, a BJP leader, would contest in the polls on a ‘Congress ticket’. There have been speculations that Ravi Shankar Prasad would contest from Sinha's Patna Sahib seat.

IIM-Bangalore will be hosting its 44th convocation on March 22 at the IIM campus in Bengaluru. Arundhati Bhattacharya, former Chairman, State Bank of India, will be delivering the convocation address. The convocation will end with a report by IIM-B Director G Raghuram.

India will take on hosts Nepal in the finals of the SAFF Women's Championship on March 22. This comes after the Indian women’s football team beat Bangladesh 4-0 on Wednesday (March 20, 2019). This is the fifth time the team has secured a spot in the finals of the tournament.
