The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) will decide on admitting or rejecting the bankruptcy pleas in the Jet Airways crisis case on June 13. This comes two days after two operational creditors – Shaman Wheels and Gaggar Enterprises on moved the NCLT seeking Bankruptcy proceedings against the airline. Jet Airways owes more than Rs 8,000 crore to a consortium of banks led by the State Bank of India (SBI) , which now run the airline. It also has a much larger debt pile by way of accumulated losses to the tune of Rs 13,000 crore and vendor dues of over Rs 10,000 crore as well as salary dues of over Rs 3,000 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 19th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on June 13 and June 14 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This will be PM Modi’s first visit to a multilateral summit after winning the Lok Sabha elections for the second term. The SCO was founded in 2001. It is an economic and security bloc, which consists of eight member states. These included China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. India and Pakistan became the full-time member of this organisation in 2017

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, will hold a meeting with the all chiefs and general secretaries of BJP’s state and Union Territory units as well as besides its national office bearers on June 13. The organisational meeting may continue on June 14 as well, a party leader said. Shah, whose three-year term as BJP Chief had ended earlier this year, was asked to continue in the position as the party had put on hold the organisational elections to focus on the Lok Sabha polls.

The Digital Communications Commission (DCC), the apex decision making body at the telecom department, is expected to discuss 5G trials during its meeting on June 13. They would also discuss relief for BSNL as well as MTNL, according to sources. India is likely to roll out commercial 5G services at par with leading markets of the world by 2020. The DCC is also likely to discuss a relief package for BSNL and MTNL before sending the proposal to the Cabinet, according to a source. Both companies have also sought spectrum for 4G services through equity infusion from the government.
