The Union Ministry of Tourism is set to launch a new website by next month.
“The new website will be more personalised and dynamic,” said Meenakshi Sharma, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism.
Emphasis will be on content and digital media in the new website. It will cover tourism details of all States, she added.
The aim of the new website is to have a strategy that will help read the minds of visitors. It will pick up the digital footprints of those who visit the site.
For example, Sharma explained, if someone is interested in adventure tourism and spends a lot of time on it on the site, then 40 per cent of the content would be adventure-related topics when the person opens the site the next time.
At the same time, the website will give visitors all options as people’s interests can change rapidly.
