With the autumn breeze blowing gently over the city, Delhiites can enjoy their Sunday leisure with a feast of literature.
‘Lit for Life', a day-long literature conclave by The Hindu , will kick off at 9 a.m tomorrow, with a ‘cheerful Sunday breakfast' at the India Habitat Centre, marking the second year of The Hindu Literary Prize.
The prize “recognises and encourages Indian writing in English….It has a wide range including works in translation, new creative talent and also honours writers who have spent their lifetime mining human spirit through their words and ideas,” said the organisers.
The day will be packed with a variety of programmes – a full-day workshop on children's writing and discussions on literature, theatre as well as social issues.
Among some noted participants are Sanjana Kapoor, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Mahesh Dattani, Anuja Chauhan, and Rajeev Balasubramanyam.
The shortlist for The Hindu Literary Prize will be announced at the end of the day.
Siyahi is the creative consultant to the conclave, which has a host of sponsors and associate sponsors such as HIRCO, Shriram City, Sheshayee Paper, and Rado. Book publishers Penguin, Harper Collins and Om Books are among some of the session sponsors. In Chennai, the festival will be held on October 29 and 30 at the Hyatt Regency.
