The 12-day-long Gujarat Paryatan Parv (Tourism Festival) 2018, launched on September 16, will conclude in Ahmedabad on Thursday to mark the World Tourism Day.
Backed by the Union Government’s national Paryatan Parv initiative, the extravaganza of colourful celebrations was organized at about two dozen places across Gujarat, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists.
An increased tourist inflow is expected to contribute to the state’s economy and provide more means of employment and livelihood opportunities for locals, according to a press release here.
Activities including cultural events, competitions, seminars, exhibitions, tours of heritage sites, home stay, heritage walk etc were among the events organized at different places, according to Jenu Devan, Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat.
