Aamir Khan's Christmas release, Dangal has become the highest grossing Hindi film as it touched Rs 345.3 crore mark at the box office. With this Dangal has broken the record set by PK which earned Rs 340.8 crore at the box office.

According to Disney India, Dangal earned Rs 14.44 crore on Sunday (17th day of release). Its overseas box office collection stood at $26.47 million, earning about $11 million at the North America territory. The movie has been co-produced by Disney India and Aamir Khan Productions. It crossed the Rs 100 work on the opening weekend.

Amrita Pandey, Vice President, Studios, Disney India said, “The overwhelming love that audience have showered on the film, the outstanding response at the box office - both India and internationally - reinstates our belief in a good story.”

Last year, Disney's The Jungle Book had also set the record for becoming the highest grossing Hollywood film in India which earned Rs 188 crore at the box office. This makes it the only studio to have both the highest grossing Bollywood and Hollywood film at the Indian box office.
