Think Android -- Think Mobiles or Think Tablets or, think computers in the future. But cooking?

There is an Android-based device called -- quite appropriately -- MAID that can cook! And it is not something that will come a few years from now. It is there now, supposedly available in the market.

What is MAID? It is a Microwave Android Integrated Device. The MAID’s features (no pun intended) include, according to the company’s Website:

It knows ‘every recipe' and requires no cooking experience. It has the option for users to upload their own recipes and has voice assistance for every step in cooking. It also claims to have illustrations for ingredients. Apart from this it has other usual features of microwave ovens such as automatic time settings and touch controls.

The company behind this is SectorQubeTechnolabs, incubated in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram.. The company claims the ease of use of what it calls the auto-cook oven is comparable to modern touch screen smartphones.

Whether there will be recipe apps that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store that the MAID will use to ‘automatically’ cook them is something we have to wait and watch. If it does happen, enterprising guys can sell ‘recipes’ from the Play store and make money.
