Entertainment player, K Sera Sera (KSS Limited) has launched a cine-restaurant in Ahmedabad called - ‘Chhotu Maharaj’.

The company plans to develop a franchisee model for its newly launched igloo shaped cine-restaurant, which can accommodate 100 people inside its 50-feet-diameter dome.

The unit, according to the company's chairman Satish Pancharia, would also reach out to smaller towns, where the penetration of cinema halls or multiplexes is low.

With a franchisee fee of ₹25 lakh, investors get the entire cinema infrastructure - software, dome and furniture - as well as access to four of the latest films, which can be showcased each month. The price of a ticket is expected to be approximately ₹300-500 per person.

“The customers can enjoy a seven-course meal and watch the latest movies at affordable rates. There is a revenue-sharing model in place, but the business is expected to break-even within 7-8 months; calculating a minimum 30 per cent occupancy,” said Pancharia during the launch in Ahmedabad.

KSS Limited currently has 32 miniplexes across the country, which it plans to increase to 100 in the next two years.

Pancharia stated that the latest ‘Chhotu Maharaj’ model of cinema will be a hit in small towns, where people aspire to watch films in a luxurious environment. "We have started receiving enquiries for franchisees. In a span of 2-3 years, we are hope to open about 9000 such units across the country," he said.
