With the latest instance of social media trolling faced by Dangal actress Zaira Wasim, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday said talent needs to be encouraged instead of muzzling it with “frivolous and baseless controversies.”
“ Why did she have to tender an apology for meeting the CM of her own state? Where are the so called ‘ultra liberals’ now?,” the Minister asked.
Referring to the controversy over ban on Pakistani actors during surgical strikes by India, Naidu said the people who were vocal then are “conspicuous by their silence now.”
Meanwhile in an FB post, actor Aamir Khan asked trolls to leave her alone and respect the fact that she is only a 16-year-old. “Zaira, I want you to know that we are all with you.bright, young, talented...kids like you are a role model for kids not only in India, but across the world,” he said in the post.
