US Vice-President Joe Biden has said his decision to run for President in 2016 will not be swayed by whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton chooses to seek the Democratic nomination or not.

Asked if he had said he would not run for Presidency if Clinton runs for the top position, Biden replied, “No, I haven’t.”

“The only reason to run for the President of the United States is if you truly believe you’re in a better position to do what you think is most needed in the country,” he said.

Biden said he is confident that he would make a good President.

“I think my knowledge of foreign policy, my engagement with world leaders, my experience is — uniquely positions me to follow through on the agenda Barack (Obama) and I have of bringing up in world peace in a way that is real and substantive,” Biden said.

Asked whether Clinton’s decision will affect his own decision making process, the Vice-President said “no, not directly.”

“I also think the middle class is the single focus of what we should be looking at and how to grow it. And whether she (Hillary Clinton) runs or not will not affect my decision,” Biden said.

Clinton, the former first lady, is widely believed to be running for 2016 Presidential position, but she has not announced her decision yet.
