Renowned American management thinker Robert Kaplan will receive the second global management guru award (GMGA) instituted by the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH).
Credited with many innovative management practices, Harvard Professor Kaplan will receive the award and deliver a lecture in New Delhi on November 9, a media release said here on Friday.
Some of the breakthrough contributions of Kaplan at Harvard Business School and Carnegie Mellon University include ’time-driven activity-based costing’, Balanced Scorecard, Strategy Maps and the Kaplan-Norton strategy execution.
“The innovations of ‘time-driven activity-based costing’, Balanced Scorecard, Strategy Maps, the Kaplan-Norton strategy execution system, and my recent work on risk management all emanate from a fundamental belief that valid and accurate measurement is at the core of communicating, implementing and monitoring an organisation’s strategy whether in the private, public, or NGO sector,” said Kaplan.
He has authored more than a dozen books.
The GMGA award, instituted in 2011, has an evolved process of short listing 25 global thought leaders that is followed by an international jury process, the release said.
The jury was led by eminent management educationist Pritam Singh.
