Instant messaging and voice application Viber today appointed Mark Hardy as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
Based out of London, Hardy is tasked with the leadership of Viber’s marketing teams in Brazil, India, Philippines and Vietnam.
“Hardy to drive Viber’s global marketing strategy from London and lead local teams around the world,” the company said in a statement.
Available across platforms such as Android, Windows, iOS and Blackberry, Viber currently has over 300 million users in 193 countries. It allows users to send free text messages and make voice calls.
“We have built an incredible platform since Viber launched just over three years ago and we have grown an enthusiastic and engaged community of users. Now we want to reach an even larger community and expand and deepen our presence in strategic global markets,” Viber CEO Talmon Marco said.
Commenting on his appointment, Hardy said, “The team has created an amazing mobile platform and I look forward to building the brand and introducing new Viber experiences to an ever-growing audience.”
