Manipal University has launched a leadership programme in interprofessional education in partnership with Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), Philadelphia.
The two-year fellowship programme emphasises on leadership competencies for interprofessional practice through interaction with leaders and collaboration with peers. The programme is launched by Manipal University in association with FAIMER International Institute for Leadership in Interprofessional Education.
The fellowship includes two annual one-week residential sessions at Manipal University's Karnataka campus and two 11-month online learning sessions following the residential sessions. Participants of the programme will also receive mentoring and support from experts and faculty.
"Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the understanding of interprofessional learning amongst medical practitioners and thereby address the health needs of the community,” Vinod Bhat, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Manipal University, said in a press statement.
The first residential programme will be on between May 4 and May 10, 2015.
