Students at IIM Kozhikode are poised to organise the sixth Calicut mini-Marathon 2015 on March 1 in association with the Kerala Police and the Angel Foundation. The Calicut Mini-Marathon is now open for registration.
The launch ceremony was held on February 3. The theme of the marathon this year is 'Road Safety'. It will feature two categories, a 10 km mini-marathon, which is a competitive race, and a 3 km 'Dream Run', a non-competitive run featuring people from all walks of life.
Over the past five years, the marathon has taken up a unique cause every year and has focused on critical issues such as women’s empowerment, rights of differently-abled people, waste management, and organ donation.
"It is great to see the student initiative that started six years ago as a commitment of IIM Kozhikode to the community around it is gathering momentum now," said Kulbhooshan Balooni, Director, IIM Kozhikode, in a press statement.
