Manipal University (MU) has opened admissions to its International Engineering Twinning programme also known as ICAS (International Centre for Applied Sciences) programme. The students spend 1st and 2nd years of engineering in MU (Manipal Campus) under the programme. They spend the remaining 3rd and 4th years in one of the 90 universities abroad that has tied-up with MU.

With the increase in student mobility to universities abroad, MU introduced the ICAS programme in 1994, by forging alliances with reputed universities across the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, Germany and France.

During the two years spent at MU, students are trained to meet eligibility requirements through an international curriculum and have a cultural understanding of the destination country. On completion of the first two years, students are transferred abroad to universities of their choice, through a smooth credit transfer system where they complete the 3rd and 4th years of engineering.

Upon graduation, students are awarded an engineering degree from the foreign university and placement opportunities. In France and Germany, the programme offered is an integrated bachelors and masters programme where a student is awarded a bachelors degree in Manipal and masters degree in Germany/France.

University of Massachusetts, Ohio State University, University of Minnesota twin cities, Purdue University, University of Illinois Urbana Champagne, Illinois Institute of Technology include some of the universities offering the programme.
