Everyone can identify Shah Rukh Khan as one of the richest stars in Bollywood, but it now emerges that the 48-year-old’s wealth even trumps that of Hollywood powerhouses like Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp.
According to a new report by wealth intelligence firm WealthX, Khan, with a personal fortune estimated at $600 million, is the second wealthiest actor on the planet. Besides his “regular job”, Khan also owns production companies Red Chillies Entertainment and Dreamz Unlimited and co-owns IPL Cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He’s believed to have made significant investments in real estate around the world as well.
The only Indian to be featured in the list of the 10 richest actors, Khan’s wealth was only trumped by comedian Jerry Seinfeld, whose net worth was $820 million.
But Seinfeld’s wealth experienced a significant jump only last year, when he inked syndication deals for his eponymous show worth $400 million, which appear to have enabled him to overtake King Khan.
Veteran Hollywood actor Tom Cruise rounded off the Top 3 in the list, with a cool $480 million to his name. He was trailed by media mogul Tyler Perry and heartthrob Johnny Depp, who both made the list with a $450 million net worth.
The other Hollywood stars in the list were Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood and Adam Sandler. TV comedian Bill Cosby also found a place in the list at No. 8. The combined personal fortunes of the stars on the list totals $4.68 billion.
