Aloft, a part of the Starwood international hospitality chain, has launched its third hotel in India with a property in Coimbatore.

Aloft ,which entered India last year with hotels in Chennai and Bangalore, has opened a 167-room hotel in Singanallur, Coimbatore to give business and leisure travellers an `exciting experience, said a press release. It is close to the Business District, Tidel Park and destinations such as Ooty, Coonoor, Tirupur and Valparai.

Aloft Coimbatore offers 85 King rooms, 62 Double Queen rooms, 16 Splash rooms, two suites and two specially designed Splash Suites. All rooms are equipped with an LCD TV, WiFi, Coffee/Tea maker and plug n play which offers a one-stop connectivity solution for multiple electronic gadgetry. For children, Camp Aloft has been designed to provide a special surprise to make their stay enjoyable and memorable.

All Aloft properties offer facilities with their own spunky names such as Aloha (Reception desk), Refuel (Grab n Go counter), Remix (Pool table/community table/lounger), Relax (Lounger), In Touch (Business/Internet center), Touch & Go (Auto check-in), dot.yum (Multi cuisine restaurant), Estia (Mediterranean cuisine restaurant), WXYZ (Bar), Splash (Swimming pool), Backyard (Swimming pool deck area), Recharge (Gym), Spa (The spa), Tactic (Meeting room), The Hub (Banquet hall) and Retail (Retail shop).

The Aloft property at Coimbatore is owned by UrbanEdge Hotels, a SPV between Apollo Global Management and Auromatrix Hotels. UrbanEdge's two other Aloft hotels are set to open soon at Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.

Godrej Properties plans second project in Gurgaon

Godrej Properties Ltd has entered into an agreement to develop a 22-acre, residential project in Gurgaon. The real estate development arm of the Godrej Group has signed the deal with Magic Info Solutions Pvt Ltd to develop a residential group housing project in Sector 104 of Gurgaon, with a total saleable area of about 2 million sq. ft.

The location in the Gurgaon urban area gives it access to the airport, railway station, NH8 and Central Business District and the proposed Dwarka Expressway.
