The season for new car launches is just around the corner. The festive season said to be the most auspicious for new car purchases, it now surprising that most auto brands make it a point to roll out at least one new model in this period.
The most significant new launches, all to be announced within the next four weeks, will include the Renault Kwid 1.0, the Hyundai Elantra, the new Audi A4 TFSI and finally the introduction of the Jeep brand into India.
The Hyundai Elantra will make its re-entry into the country with the launch set for later this month. Featuring the latest iteration of the Korean brand’s fluidic design language, the Elantra will likely sport a 2.0-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine options. It will attempt to take the fight to the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Skoda Octavia.
The big launch of this month will be the introduction of the Jeep brand into India. It seems like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Indian subsidiary has been talking about the quintessential American SUV brand and its entry here forever. Finally, the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Grand Cherokee are to be launched. The diesel variants will be the first to come and the petrol versions will follow in late October or November.
The other keenly followed launch set for the second half of August is the Renault Kwid 1.0. Sporting a larger one-litre petrol engine compared to the 800cc engine engine of now, the new variant of the Kwid will attempt to woo buyers from cars like the Suzuki Alto K10 and the Hyundai Eon. The Kwid has had a good run till now and it already clocking healthy numbers.
