India will see the debut of the Jeep Compass compact SUV next year when it rolls out of the Tata-Fiat plant in Ranjangaon near Pune. Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), told a team of Indian journalists at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday that the Compass was an important part of the overall plan for emerging markets. Apart from India, it will be manufactured in China, Brazil and Mexico. Jeep, which accounts for sales of 1.4 million units annually and among the largest contributors to FCA, expects to see numbers grow with the Compass thanks to its potential in emerging markets. India will also be the best bet as an export hub to other right-hand drive countries.
