How it does it: GEM collects both pre-consumer and post-consumer packaging scrap and ensures that it is recycled as per legal and environment norms. Post recycling GEM develops recycled merchandise which again is sold to institutional clients thereby providing complete value chain solutions.
Big moment: Watching the excitement among students while they provided used PET bottles for recycling on the recycling day event at their school.
Impact: Every year GEM prevents more than 100 million PET bottles to get into landfills. This leads to saving of area equivalent to a cricket stadium. The energy saved through this can run entire operations of Delhi metro for a week.
