Bengaluru-based CropIn Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd, an agri-tech start-up, has raised about ₹58 crore ($8 million) in a Series B round from Chiratae Ventures and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Strategic Investment Fund.
It will use the money to expand the reach of its SmartFarm technology platform in India and overseas. It will also use part of the funds to develop its Machine Learning-based SmartRisk platform that helps predict crop yields using satellite images. The company has so far raised $12 million with the latest funding round.
