Intra-city logistics start-up Blowhorn has raised about ₹25 crore ($3.65 million) in a Series A round from IDG Ventures India, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and existing investors Draper Associates and Unitus Seed Fund.
Blowhorn will use the money to expand operations to eight cities in the next two years, with over 25,000 active users. Blowhorn’s tech-enabled platform connects customers to mini-truck owners, enabling intracity, less than two tonnes deliveries.
It has been founded by Mithun Srivatsa and Nikhil Shivaprasad, who have over two decades expertise in logistics and technology, Blowhorn aims to aggregate and streamline the fragmented and logistics market that has over 1.8 million mini-trucks in urban centres alone. It is estimated that India’s market for intra-city logistics is three times the size of the passenger transportation market.
