BookMyShow raises ₹550 crore

Mumbai-based Bigtree Entertainment Pvt Ltd, which owns and operates BookMyShow, has raised over ₹550 crore in its fourth round of funding. US-based Stripes Group led this round of funding with participation from all existing investors — Network18, Accel Partners and SAIF Partners. The fund raise comes at a time when BookMyShow has entered global markets such as Indonesia. It will use the money to rolling out exclusive entertainment experiences and improving the offering.

Don’t Scratch Your Head gets ₹1.7 cr

Don’t Scratch Your Head, an SaaS-based logistics reconciliation platform for e-commerce channels, has raised ₹1.70 crore from Venture Catalysts, a seed investment and innovation platform.

The company will use the money to improve its technology infrastructure and customer support team.

TVS Capital exits Wonderla

A fund managed by TVS Capital Funds has fully exited its investment in Wonderla Holidays Ltd. The TVS Shriram Growth Fund Scheme 1B had acquired 13.23 lakh shares representing 2.34 per cent stake as an anchor investor in Wonderla Holidays at ₹125 a share. It sold the shares in tranches at an average price of ₹384.33 per share. The original investment of ₹16.54 crore fetched the fund ₹50.85 crore in secondary market exits, generating a 70 per cent internal rate of return.

Trak N Tell raises funds

Automotive telematics company Bits N Bytes Soft Pvt Ltd, which does business under the Trak N Tell name, has raised an undisclosed amount from a group of global business leaders including Brian Acton, co-founder, WhatsApp. Trak N Tell explores the nascent market for 'connected cars'. It creates products to ensure the safety of passengers while travelling in their vehicle through the use of telematics and connected car technologies.

₹3.3-crore funding for VCats

Venture Catalysts, the Mumbai-based investment and innovation platform, has got ₹3.3 crore ($500,000) in funding from Zaffiro Ventures. The money will be used to expand across India and promote entrepreneurship beyond cities and tier-I towns. The platform recently expanded its operations to Surat and is looking to establish its presence in five cities in 2016 and five more in the next two years.
