IPM Potato Group Ltd (IPM), a leading international player in potato breeding and seed potato production, has picked up an equity stake in Bengaluru-based Utkal Tubers Ltd, a lab-to-land company engaged in potato research, cultivation and marketing.
Utkal Tubers has raised ₹10 crore from IPM Potato Group and Zephyr Peacock. Established in 2017 with funds from Zephyr Peacock and Capaleph, Utkal operates in seven States. Through the new partnership with IPM, Utkal has licensed an extensive portfolio of new potato varieties with high yield potential. IPM is a subsidiary of Donegal Investment Group Plc and is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.
