My Favourite Airport: Kansai International Airport, Osaka, Japan
What I like about it: The descent towards Osaka’s Kansai International Airport is picturesque with its clear weather and magnificent view. You can see the entire coast ahead as well as Kobe, the university town. Landing on the artificial island makes you feel like you are landing on water. This being a crowded country, you need to use every inch of space and in this airport’s case, create new space. The baggage claim and limousine service are very well organised and efficient — very Japanese .
What could be improved: The huge waiting line at immigration could be improved as it is very un-Japanese . The security procedure is painstaking as you are now photographed and fingerprinted.
Other Airports I like: Barra Airport, Scotland, because its runway is very unique as it is a tidal runway and Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, because of natural lighting and triple height ceiling — makes it very airy.
