Ravish Doctor is the Marketing Manager for the India market at Skyscanner, a global travel search site.

My favourite airport: Skyscanner is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland. So I travel to Edinburgh often. Every visit to the airport signals either the beginning or end of an important trip and hence makes it special .

What I like about it: I rate convenience as the most important factor for airports. While the Edinburgh airport doesn’t quite match the scale of Changi airport back home in Singapore, it more than makes up by being high on convenience. Most of the flights are at convenient hours. The airport amenities – luggage services, the lounge, restaurants – are conveniently located next to the departure gates. The exit immigration data is supplied directly by airlines to the authorities. This means, no queuing up.

What could be improved: Commuting between the airport and Edinburgh city could take some time . If you’re rushing for your flight, you might be better off taking the tram. If you’re in no rush though, it is an absolutely beautiful drive.

Other airports I like: When it comes to customer service, airports in Asia are hard to beat. Changi Singapore, Suvarnabhumi Bangkok, Dubai International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi are my top picks.
